Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about the method, the time it takes, what it is not, and what to do when things go sideways.
How much time does the PathFlow Method take?
Around twenty minutes a day in total across the morning anchor, the midday reset and the evening review, plus about thirty minutes once a week for the review. The daily action itself is whatever size you shaped it to be, and we recommend starting with something that takes under ten minutes.
Do I need to buy anything to use it?
No. Everything on this site is free to read, and the method works with a notebook and a pen. We may offer optional paid resources in the future, and if we do, the method described here will remain free and complete on its own.
What if I have tried habit systems before and they never stuck?
That is the situation the method was built for. Most systems fail at the Shape stage, by asking for an action that only fits a good day, or at the Review stage, by having no review at all. If you work through the Orient stage honestly and shrink the action until it survives a bad day, you are already past the two most common failure points.
I fell off for a month. Do I start over?
You pick up at the Review stage, not at the beginning. Spend thirty minutes looking at what happened in the weeks before the gap, choose one adjustment, and resume with the shrunken version of your action. Starting over from Orient is only necessary if the area you chose no longer matters to you.
Is this a program about making money or starting a business?
No. PathFlow Now is about personal habits, attention and follow-through. Some readers apply the method to work or financial goals, and that is up to them. We make no claims about income or business results, and our Earnings Disclaimer explains that position in detail.
Can the method help with anxiety, depression or other health conditions?
It is not designed to, and we are not qualified to give that kind of guidance. The routines may sit comfortably alongside treatment, but please talk to a doctor, therapist or other qualified professional about anything related to your physical or mental health before relying on anything you read here.
Why only one area at a time?
Because attention is the scarce resource, not time. Working one area deeply produces evidence that you can follow through, and that evidence makes the second and third areas dramatically easier. Working three areas at once usually produces three partial efforts and no evidence at all.
Does it matter whether I use paper or an app?
Only in the sense that you should use what you will actually open. Paper has fewer distractions and many people find the physical act of writing settles the mind. An app is fine if you keep notifications off while you use it.
Who writes the material on this site?
PathFlow Now is published by Trailhead Digital Group LLC, a small independent company. Our writers draw on established research in behavior change and on their own experience, and we review material regularly for accuracy. You can read more about us on the About page.
How do I get in touch?
Through the contact page, where you will find our email address, postal address and a short form. We read everything and usually reply within one to two business days.
